At Los Dos Olivos, vulnerable children find more than just food and a roof over their heads—they find a place to heal and grow. We welcome children who have experienced abandonment, abuse, or neglect, wrapping them in a supportive community that provides medical care, excellent education, spiritual guidance, and social growth. Most importantly, we give them the safety, dignity, and love of a real home.
The home is located in the Santa Fe Del Rios Michoacán Community. this welcoming campus provides everything children need to thrive. The grounds feature cozy boys' and girls' dorms, a nursery, and full kitchen and dining facilities. Educational and support spaces include a classroom, study areas, and counseling rooms, alongside a large chapel, a multi-purpose building, an outdoor playground.
Children come to our home through DIF, Mexico's social services agency, which oversees their legal custody and our operations without providing financial support. While some of these children eventually find permanent homes through adoption, reunite with family, or transition to other care facilities, many grow up right here, making Los Dos Olivos their permanent home.
Every child deserves the tools to succeed in the classroom. We ensure our preschool through high school students are enrolled in schools that fit their needs, fully equipped with uniforms, textbooks, and school supplies. On campus, dedicated teachers volunteer their time after school and on weekends to provide vital homework help and tutoring.
From soccer, farming and horticulture to music lessons, the children stay active with wonderful enrichment activities. We love taking them on fun local field trips to parks, and museums. Holidays are always a massive, joyful celebration here at the orphanage!
Our full-time staff nurse provides daily medical care, coordinates doctor appointments, and ensures the children receive routine and preventive health services.
The children come together for Sunday worship in our campus chapel.
The children receive individual and group psychological care from external professionals as needed, and participate in workshops focusing on personal safety, hygiene, and other living challenges. Counseling is provided at the facility. Family visits and extended family contacts are encouraged to foster family reunification
Our home is managed by a full-time director and a small leadership team, featuring a nurse who directs healthcare coordination and operations. They guide a team of 15 staff members who balance caregiving with daily operational roles. Academic support is provided by a dedicated teacher who handles tutoring and homework. Every staff member participates in ongoing childcare training and completes routine certifications to guarantee safe, high-quality care.
